  1. PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY
  • The President is the Academic and Administrative Head of the University College and accountable to the Governing Council;
  • The President is responsible, under the Council and in accordance with the Statutes of the University, for organizing and conducting the Academic, Financial and Administrative business of the University;
  • The President is responsible for the promotion of a quality higher education and research and the provision of academic and administrative leadership;
  • The President is responsible for setting and implementing the agenda reflected by the University's broad Strategic Plans; initiating new directions in the academic development of the University; and protecting the integrity of the University’s processes;
  • The President is the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University College and has authority over all employees of the University College and the student body.
  • The President is the public face of the University and represents the University to the outside world and speaks for the University.

The Person
  • Must be of unblemished character and have a high degree of personal integrity;
  • Must hold a PhD and be a Professor with extensive research leadership;
  • Must be a distinguished scholar of international repute who can inspire, direct and motivate employees;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must be a team player;
  • Must have the energy and capacity for mobilizing the needed resources for the achievement of the University's mission and vision.
Applicant must also show evidence of the following qualities:
  • Must have good business sense and the ability to manage resources to achieve set goals;
  • Must have good fund raising capabilities
  • Ability to foster and promote good internal and external relations of the University;
  • Ability to project effectively the image of the University internally and externally;
  • Proven capacity to provide strong, visionary leadership and innovation;
  • Must have a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct faculty and staff;
  • Must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills;
  • Must be transparent, firm and above reproach;
  • Proven ability to manage crisis situations;
  • Must be a visionary, business oriented and be able to establish rapport between industry and the University College for common purpose.

Terms of Appointment

These will be determined by the Governing Council consistent with the Statutes of the University College.

The President shall hold office for an initial term of three (3) years. The appointment may be renewed upon application for a period determined by the Governing Council. Applicant should not be more than 65 years by July, 2024.

  • Curriculum Vitae, including the addresses of three (3) referees who can attest to the qualities being sought.
  • A short statement of not more than four pages outlining their vision for the role and strategies for implementation in accordance with Ghana Baptist University College’s Vision and Mission Statements, during his/her tenure as President.
